omg, omg, omg, omg, omg!!!! please just let me brag........!!
Seriously, I can't believe I was able to participate in Paris Fashion Week 2010. I knew that it was going on but I had no idea how to get involved, etc, etc. But somehow, through my friends, it happened! I only participated in the last two days of it but it was definitely satisfying enough and way, super cool!
The first night was Kenzo's 40th anniversary! We didn't to go in but we did wait outside like beggars while classy, high-fashioned famous people to and fro, in and out, of the the building. Scott Shuman was right in front of me but I had turned my head for one second and then I missed him. Le sigh...but it's okay! We saw amazing people dressed in amazing clothes and I was super inspired. I didn't know what I was going to experience the next day so I felt like going outside of this event was good enough for me. Little did I know!!!
The next day, Suz, Lindy, Elizabeth and I had decided to go to Valentin Kurdashkin's show. We thought we would just be standing outside, possibly seeing famous peeps but no! We actually got in!!!! There was a line of people waiting and so we decided to just stand with him. Might as well if we're going to stand anywhere right? And so the line started to move and in we went! We were so super stoked! We filled in the spots for people who got in and that's how we got sit in the second row. I sat in some asian's spot. Her name was like Sophia Liu or something. Hehehe! I'm not gonna act like I know what I'm talking about but the line was really amazing and I really loved the white, casual clothes. The models were beautiful Russian dolls. I've never been to a fashion show so the whole time my heart was just racing!!! Afterwards, we event got to go backstage and see the models take off their makeup and the designer get interviewed. It was super legit. Hehehe. And this is where we met our 16 year old fashionista boys, Dourane et Arié! I asked if I could take a picture of them before and they came up to me asking if I worked for a blog. hehe sorry I don't but we exchanged Facebook information and we are totes friends with little Frenchies now! They are super rad!
Afterwards, the four of us went shopping because we were super inspired. Hahaha we are silly but whatevers! Then I had to race to class at the Louvre where I couldn't even concentrate because I was so amazed by what just happened. I also walked passed Louis Vuitton's fashion show building, which was exclusively exclusive for obvious reasons. But, I did manage to shoot some of the models who I'm guessing were the LV models? Everyone was going crazy so I was just going crazy with them. Hehe!
After class, I raced over to Paul & Joe with some more of my friends and as we were waiting in line, I SAW COCO ROCHA! She was leaving the Hermés fashion show and I was on the other side of the gate but still!!!! Sam introduced me to her and I really like her a lot! She's beautiful, inside and out! Foreal! Research her! Or click here: www.ohsococo.blogspot.com! So yeah, we got in and this one was a lot bigger! There were a lot more people and the line was so cute, casual, fun, and so possible for any ordinary street person to wear. A lot of us liked this one more because of that reason. And the music was fun too. Also, these two photographers/bloggers thought I was Chinese and wanted me to work them and gave me their card. She said she would e-mail me but she hasn't...but that's okay, because I'm Korean, not Chinese. Next time?

After Paul & Joe, we made our way to Miu Miu which was a fail to get in but we did see Rihanna. She was like two feet in front of us. OoOooOO~~~ I wasn't very sad that we didn't get in because honestly, I was really satisfied the first night, being outside of Kenzo and the two before totally topped it off. Can't have everything you know?

It was seriously such an amazing experience. I really loved how ordinary kids were able to get in and though there are those snobby rich people, there are also very nice people who understand that fashion is for everyone. Which is very true you know? I really loved that these fashion shows inspired me to carry my "passion for fashion" (omg, did I really say that?) and keep doing what I love. It really opened my eyes to a whole 'nother world. I mean, I always loved clothes and shopping but I was never really in with the big names and brands. These shows don't make me want to become a know-all-the-brands kinda girl but they make me want to do my research about why these brands are famous and what the represent and stuff like that. I still think my favorite is street fashion because it's an automatic representation that fashion is for every, single person. You don't have to be rich! You just have to have the heart and go for it!!! Hopefully, my future will somehow have to do this kinda stuff!

And while we are on this whole "fashion" subject, I must finally tell you about the street fashion in Paris! At first, when I got here, I was really disappointed in the street fashion because I felt that Paris was so hyped and that everyone looked like the same as people in the States. But honestly, living out everyday, I realized (and LOVE) that the Parisians are all about detail!!!!! The way they fold their pants (girls AND GUYS), wrap their scarves, add pins in their hair (girls), and style their face with the funkiest glasses ever is just amazing. Everyone here dresses up really well and it's totally a normal thing. The "metro" guys in the states are the everyday, ordinary guys in Paris and the "bold" girls are also the everyday, ordinary girls in Paris. People shop like they eat here. And about 7/10 are holding an H&M/Zara/Whatever,whatever bag as you walk down the street and sit in the metro. Even the kids who are 12 years old are wearing heeled oxfords with a blazer and fat, chunky scarves. Also, the old grandmas and grandpas have so much style and class. I love it so much! It's inspiring me to become bolder in my everyday dress...hehe! But it's also draining my wallet so I will stop.................I MUST stop. Le sigh.
I didn't get the greatest pictures though. Sadly! I always say I need to up my photography skills...but I never do.
But Facebook for more pictures, as always!
