found this from Oh, Hello Friend.
This is random but still significant. I feel like everyone here in France, or even Europe, is really smart. They know their history. They know their current events. They know EVERYTHING. When I met my uncle for the first time tonight, we started talking about why there was a Statue of Liberty in France and when American won their independence, and I didn't even know the date!!! (It's July 4, 1776 thanks to Google). I felt really ashamed but now I know it. And since I've been here, I just realized that most Americans at my age are probably not aware of a lot of things. I might just be speaking for myself, though. But anyways, I'm really inspired to know this and that of everything! When I get home, I really want to explore Socal and go to all their museums and actually learn about the things that are exhibited. I wanted to know the deets about everything! Who knows if I will do this though. I hope I don't fall into laziness and only have interest in having fun...but I really do want to become intellectual. I want to read lots of books and just know random facts. And I really hope my brain expands while I'm here. I feel like I am already on my way! My art history class is teaching me so much and I love it so much! I've never taken an art history class before but it's really cool because we actually go to the Louvre and look at the paintings in real life. It's so wonderful!!! I just learned about the artist Le Brun and his four paintings that filled up just one room. It was glorious. Yeah!!
(The clouds here are like glimpses of heaven!)
And with the ampersand article, it's my new learned fact of the day. Make it yours too!
